Ash is one of the most commonly planted shade trees along the front range. Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive insect originally from Northeastern Asia. This pest feeds on all Ash species. Over 200 million Ash trees have already died nation wide. Ash Borer is now established in Northern Colorado including confirmed tree mortality in the Fort Collins/Loveland region. Experts predict 99% of all untreated Ash species to be killed within infected areas. Treatments are proven to be effective but only protected trees remain alive in infected areas.
